Failure

Yesterday I made a promise to do a few things. These things included purchasing bulk seasonings and lentils and to send off my packaging for review. I inquired about the seasonings from a vendor (you need to be approved before you can buy) and I did in fact send my packaging off for review to a variety of people. (The most interesting thing about that is how varied peoples opinions are. Sometimes even contradictory. One thinks the colors are perfect, the other thinks they are hard to see.) After accomplishing those things yesterday I still greatly feel like a failure (a little less now that I actually see I did in fact accomplish things). I wasted a whole bunch of time at home scrolling on Instagram, flirting on Hinge, winning battles in Clash Royale, and watching videos on Youtube. I had much school work to accomplish as well but that's besides the point for a business blog.

Then today, I woke up and boy did I screw the pooch. But first we have to back up again to yesterday. Last night me and my roommates went to the Utes football game. We won 66-14. I wanted to leave early. I should've left early. I should've went to bed immediately after. I shouldn't have eaten food so late. I should've stayed off my phone and sewed or read instead. I should've set my alarm earlier. NOW today, I woke up and boy did I screw the pooch. I should've gotten out of bed immediately and worked out, or showered, or brushed my teeth, or cooked a healthy breakfast, or work on school or work on work. What did I do instead? I wasted 2 1/2 hours doing exactly what I wasted my life on yesterday. Need a reminder of what that was? From a mere one paragraph ago

"I wasted a whole bunch of time at home scrolling on Instagram, flirting on Hinge, winning battles in Clash Royale, and watching videos on Youtube."

Then what did I do? Instead of going to class I wasted another hour. Then I finally got to shower, prepped for my camping trip today and tomorrow, then finally got on my bike and rode to my parents house for the rest of the camping gear. I've now been here for a solid 4 hours and I have never been so productive (mainly because I don't have my smart phone on me, THANK YOU LIGHT PHONE).

Let's get to the moral of this story as I see it. Some days we fail. Some days we succeed. But every day we do both. I started this blog thinking that I failed the entire day yesterday and today, then I started writing and found out that I did indeed royally screw up. But I also remembered all the good things that happened along the way. If it wasn't for my mess ups I never would've fixed my budget sheet, caught up inputting all that I needed for my budget, confirmed my EIN situation, solved a few money issues, and calmed down. All of those mess ups make me who I am. I need them, as much as I hate them.

But that doesn't mean I'm not gonna try and get rid of them entirely. This blog is already getting a little longer than normal so maybe I'll save this topic for the next blog. But here is a teaser, I have a minimalist phone so I can control the media and not let the media control me. While it works (like right now), it fails greatly whenever I am tired sitting in my apartment with nothing urgent to do. So next time I'm going to talk about goals and strategies to get me back on the right track (again).

That's it for today! If any of you are reading this you now know how much of a failure I am (you also probably think I use parentheses all the time but really I just use them a ton when I'm in the mood and then never use them for months). I would love to hear from you all! You can send a comment in, reach me on my instagram (@_Always_Food), or if you know me personally send me a text!
